David Carson seems to be a funny guy, so perhaps he's just f@%kN around?!

Maybe he's poking fun at all the critics???

It seems to me that David is saying that graphic design is not to be taken so seriously?

    What Carson is telling us is that in the big picture of survival on our planet Graphic Design is not all that important. Just like rock and roll, it has more value as entertainment than as a saviour of our world.
    Or, maybe he does mean that the 'play' of rock and roll and artistic design will save us from the seriousness of the world we live in destroying us all.
    Maybe the true value of his words lie in individual interpretation.

    I think he just doesn't realise rock & roll already has saved the world - from the monotony of the pre-rock music they had, you never maybe with more geniuses like Carson, Sagmeister, and you... graphic design will save the world (it is a bit monotonous out there sometimes).
